Welcome to Becca's Books!

Hi! Welcome to the required (yet incredibly awkward) "Hello, this is my new blog!" post. I started reading before kindergarten thanks to the popular books on tape in the 90s, and I haven't slowed down since.

In my real life, people usually call me Rebecca, but when it comes to book blogging and Bookstagram (book + Instagram), my name is Becca. I wish I had a cute story about the selection, but the reality is that Reading Rebecca in all forms was already taken on Instagram, and Becca's Books has a snappy alliteration I can't turn down.

I'm a Managing Editor of The News Wheel, a car news website, for my day job. The online world of books is so much fun (and filled with so much drama), but when I wanted to enter that space I couldn't stomach the idea of a blog. Why would I want to come home and write at night after I spent all day writing? Dipping my toe in with a bookish Instagram account let me share what I was reading and be involved with the community without the big time investment.

What's changed? My role of managing editor means that I write less every day, so I finally ready to commit to a personal blog.* I hope to fill this space with posts about my favorite books, trends in the literary world, and other posts about reading fun.
